We love our themes in Boda and this year it is something that is/should by history be very close to people in Leith. BOATS!!! Save that Viking helmet that you made on the Viking trail and invade Boda Bar on July 4th for some real good Viking party with OPAquavit shots, lingonberry cocktails and some really good music.

All during Leith Festival 5th -14th June you can do the walking quiz from Joseph Pearce's via Victoria and Boda down to Sofi's. It is questions about Scotland and it connections to Scandinavia and especially vikings.
If you feel extra creative you can also do our stations - a viking helmet, a viking shield, paint your face like a warrior and do your own facial hair.

6th June is the Swedish National Day and we will have a cool band playing in Sofi's.
"Tre ögon i bäcken" . Three Swedish guys, Anders, Henrik, Jon who is our new friends from the Open Mic night in Victoria. They play Swedish folk with harmonica, flutes and ukelele. Fantastic band!

"Tre ögon i bäcken" will start 8pm and will play now and then until 11pm.

On Friday night we had an Open Mic night to raise money for Finola - our neighbor with cerebral palsy, who needs funds to go to college.

We managed to raise £434.15!
A big thank you to everyone who donated money.
I would like to say thank you to all the musicians who played for us, to Nathan and Jon who shaved their heads for money.

Come and show your support for our neighbor Finola, who has Cerebral Palsy and needs to raise money for her college.

We have arranged a Open Mic Night in Victoria on Friday 7pm. Bring your harmonica, singing voice or drums and make noise for a good cause.

We also have a raffle with fantastic prizes from the local shops, a wine tasting for 6 people by Oddbins (great prize if you ask me) and lots of vouchers from the best Polish Delicatessen in Edinburgh Del Polonia.

Join Us Please!

Two lovely sisters Clare and Emma will start a Craft Guerilla in Boda Bar. It is a really cool concept were anyone can join in. You don't have to do anything for preparation, just come along and pay a small fee for the packet that they have put together and be a crafty godess!!

First time is Wednesday 27th - Craft Guerrilla DIY evening, 7pm in Boda.

Inexpensive packs will be made up of fun/beautiful/interesting projects that you can make and help will be on hand if needed. It is a chance to spend time with friends, have a drink and go home feeling wholesome because you have made something! There will also be cakes for the opening night. The craft DIY evenings will run on the last Wednesday of every month in Boda.

We are raising money for Finola, our neighbor who tries to raise funds for her college studies. Because she got Cerebral Palsy there is no college in Scotland that can meet her needs and she has to got to England.

We would like to help her and therefore we have decided to do a Open Mic Night again.
We also have a raffle with prizes from Leith Tshirt from Snail Mail, Vouchers from DelPolonia and Wine tasting for 6 people from Oddbins.

Monday 11th - Joseph Pearce's Book club is meeting in JP's at 7pm to discuss Half of a Yellow Sun and decide a new book for the next time

Tuesday 12th - Semifinal 1 of Eurovision is shown in Sofi's 8pm - Sweden is in this heat

Wednesday 13th - Exhibition Opening in Boda 7pm - Suzanne from the Award winning Gift Shop Eero & Riley will show her great pieces.

Thursday 14th - Semifinal 2 of Eurovision is shown in Sofi's at 8pm. Norway is in this semifinal and they are the tipped winner. Dont miss it!

Saturday 16th - EUROVISION FINAL in Victoria 8pm - but come at 7pm it will be packed. I cannot wait for this night - I am so excited!!! There is a Eurovision Quiz going on all week. Take part and win tickets to ABBA fest at the Corn Exchange.

Sunday 17th - Norwegian National Day - we love Norwegians, good looking, rich and funny!

Tomorrow Saturday 9th May - it is full moon!!

Since it is so many crazy people out anyway on Full Moon Nights we thought we can invite everyone to Boda Bar.
We have a DJ on, nibbles and lots of fairy lights making the spirit of Full Moon Party - so if you feel silly and want to shake your sillies out - come and join the rest of us!
