Waffle Day 25th March

Waffle Recipe in honour of Maria getting pregnant

For our family Waffles are like a fireplace. Something we gather around, something we enjoy at special occasions, as per tradition the Boda family makes waffles on Midsummer Day for all 20-30 over night stayers that are all a bit tired after a long Midsummer night.

The official Waffle Day in Sweden is however on March 25th when Maria conceived Jesus. We are still not 100% sure why that is the reason but who needs an excuse to eat waffles?

Waffles

3 eggs

400ml milk

400ml white flour

50ml sugar

1 tsp baking powder

100gram melted butter

extra butter for the waffle iron

Raspberry/Strawberry/Blueberry/Cloudberry Jam (all of them or your own preference)

Whipped cream or Vanilla ice cream (both or your preference)

Method:

Mix all together, let rest for 30 minutes in the fridge.

Heat up your waffle iron, put in a bit of butter so the waffles don’t stick.

(waffle irons usually can be find in Aldi or Lidl at certain times of the year)

Smaklig måltid!! Tuck in!!
